The first number of an AutoScan error is the reported DOS error,
the second number is the AutoScan error number and the reasons are
listed below...
ERROR +----+ REASON OR LOCATION:
1 ...... Error resetting AUTOSCAN.DAT
2 ...... Error resetting the ARCHIVE
Check the file attributes!
3 ...... Error updating AUTOSCAN.DAT
4 ...... Error renaming TEMP.DAT to AUTOSCAN.DAT
5 ...... Error resetting DIR.LST
6 ...... Error reading DIR.LST
7 ...... Error making work directory (\AUTOSN)
The /U option was used with an invalid drive name
8 ...... Error writing to AUTOSCAN.LOG
9 ...... Error deleting test files
10 ...... Error renaming BAD_FILE to filename.BAD (UNARC)
11 ...... Error renaming BAD_FILE to filename.BAD (SCAN)
12 ...... Error writing to NEWLIST.TXT or AUTOSCAN.DAT
13 ...... Error during SHUT_DOWN
14 ...... Error in MAIN_ROUTINE (DOIT)
15 ...... Error during directory search
16 ...... Error reading CONFIG FILE
Check the file for errors/spelling/paths
17 ...... Error writing to AUTOSCAN.LOG during INIT
18 ...... Error shutting down system

20 ...... Error reading ARC_FILE HEADER
21 ...... Error reading AutoScan.Dat
997 ...... DOS did not report a drive name
use the environment variable AUTOSCAN - See the docs
998 ...... Error during EXEC of the unarchiver
999 ...... Error during EXEC of the scanner
If you find any of these errors please send me a copy of AUTOSCAN.CFG,
AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS. Please also state any and all command
line options and what happened just before/during the error.
This will help me nail down any loose error and also improve the
performance of AutoScan.
